What we solve
Guidewire carriers need a way to verify policyholder and claimant identity at key moments (policy application/KYC, high-value claims and payouts) because Guidewire does not provide native IAL2 IDV or biometric binding, and fraud-scoring partners alone can’t prove the person is real. This integration triggers 1Kosmos BlockID Verify and LiveID from PolicyCenter/ClaimCenter workflows via Guidewire REST APIs and webhooks, writes verified status back to Guidewire account/claim records, and enables biometric step-up before approving large payments—reducing fraud and strengthening AML/KYC and claims controls.
Platform identity landscape
Guidewire's InsuranceSuite consists of PolicyCenter (policy administration), ClaimCenter (claims management), and BillingCenter (billing). All three components are accessible via Guidewire's REST APIs and support the Guidewire Cloud Developer Network (GCDN) for certified integrations. Guidewire's Marketplace lists 200+ certified technology partners. The Guidewire Advanced Product Designer (APD) supports low-code product modeling.
Guidewire has no native identity verification capability. Current IDV partners in the Guidewire Marketplace include LexisNexis and ID Analytics for fraud scoring, but neither provides biometric binding or IAL2 document verification. The 2025 introduction of Guidewire's AI Adjuster Assistant creates a new step-up authentication use case: when AI-generated claim summaries recommend payment above a threshold, the adjuster should be biometrically verified before approval.

Guidewire Marketplace listing: A Guidewire Marketplace app with pre-built PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter workflows positions BlockID Verify alongside Guidewire's 200+ certified partners. Guidewire's GCDN certification process is rigorous but carries significant market credibility — being listed in Guidewire Marketplace signals platform readiness to all 570 Guidewire carrier customers.
