What we solve
Rippling customers need a way to verify a new hire’s real-world identity before Rippling’s automated provisioning pipeline grants access to downstream SaaS apps, devices, and sensitive systems—since Rippling can otherwise provision based solely on HR record data. This integration adds 1Kosmos BlockID Verify and LiveID as an “identity gate” triggered by Rippling’s employee.created webhook, sends the hire an IDV link, receives completion callbacks, and writes verified status/assurance level back to Rippling so provisioning (accounts, laptop, email) only proceeds after IAL2 proofing is complete.
Platform identity landscape
Rippling unifies HR, IT, and Finance in a single platform, serving fast-growing companies from 10 to 2,000 employees. Its App Shop hosts 600+ integrations. Rippling's strength is automated provisioning: when a new hire is created in Rippling HR, the platform automatically provisions user accounts in connected SaaS apps, deploys a laptop, and sets up email — all without manual IT intervention. The identity verification gap is therefore acute: Rippling proves identity to connected applications based on HR record data alone, with no document verification or biometric proofing upstream.
Rippling-specific angle: Position BlockID as the "identity gate" that Rippling's automated provisioning pipeline passes through before downstream access is granted. The combination of Rippling's provisioning speed with BlockID's IAL2 proofing creates a fully automated, auditable new hire identity verification workflow — a significant compliance improvement over paper I-9 processes.
