Most passwordless authentication solutions for distributed workforce solely focus on one element, which is passwordless authentication.
As much as they do free employees from the burden of passwords, they miss an essential component, which is the ability to indisputably prove the identity of the employee who is authenticating without passwords.
As a result, organizations are incapable of knowing for a fact if the employee who accesses their systems and applications is who he says he is, thus exposing themselves to identity compromises.
Such a gap also exists with identity service providers that integrate with those passwordless solutions.
To bridge the gap, a passwordless solution needs to combine indisputable digital identity proofing with advanced unspoofable biometrics, passwordless authentication to reach the (highest) levels of identity and authentication assurance per the NIST 800-63-3 Guidelines, or IAL3 and AAL3.
